About Me

My fiance and I after getting engaged in Mexico in May! :)

Hey there! :)

My name is Shaunda, and I am a twenty something year old 3rd & 4th grade multiage teacher.  I grew up in little old South Dakota but I have moved on and now live and work in the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. After graduating in 2012, I got a job as a 5th grade teacher at the school I student taught at and taught 5th grade for 3 years! This 2016-2017 school year will be my fourth year of teaching and I am so excited to begin yet another year at my school with two new grade levels and a fantastic new team! :)

My amazing 5th grade team two years ago with author Jeff Kinney! My teammate (on the far right) won Pizza Hut's Book It contest and he visited our school. How cool right?!

Along with that, I started my Masters in Reading this past year...at this time next summer I will be finishing up (Yahoo)! Although it's a lot of work, I love learning about how I can improve my literacy instruction in my classroom.

Panoramic view (it's not as big as it looks) of my classroom from the 2014-2015 school year.
I have a passion for teaching and I feel it is more of a hobby than a profession (hence why my boyfriend often has to remind me to NOT do so much for school at home....something to work on I suppose :) ). Blog stalking and TPT purchasing come with the hobby of teaching and I have become quite the pro! When I am not teaching, I enjoy relaxing at one of the 10,000 lakes in Minnesota and downhill skiing during the months that are not so warm. I also have a slight shopping addiction, drink too much coffee and read far too many books on my Kindle. I love spending time with my family (pictured below) and friends, reality TV, and staying active!

I have started this blog as a way to "virtually scrapbook" all of the happenings in my classroom as well as to connect with other educators and hopefully start a little creating of my own! Being a somewhat new teacher, I have already learned and benefited from all of the inspiring bloggers and TPTers out there and hope to give back and contribute a little! Thanks for visiting! :)
